Esher legend Hugh McHardy was part of a memorable ceremony at Murrayfield before last weekend's international, when 49 years on from playing for Scotland against the Netherlands, he was awarded with his Scottish cap – no 1208.

In a brilliantly orchestrated ceremony on a glorious day in Edinburgh, Hugh was among several players from the 1970s to receive their caps, be welcomed by Scotland coach Gregor Townsend, and then spend time on the pitch with the team.

As you can see, Hugh had a long chat with Fin Russell which single-handedly changed the course of how the match panned out the following day.
